New Terms republishes exceptional independent writing inside a carefully edited physical issue. If we have approached you, it is because a particular piece adds something necessary to the question the issue is trying to answer.

Permission and ownership
Your work remains yours.
For each selected piece, we agree a short, non-exclusive licence covering one named print issue and limited promotion of that issue. Copyright stays with you and your original article remains online.
We format and lightly edit the work for print. Substantive changes come back to you for approval. Images are only included when the relevant rights are clear and agreed separately.

Clear before you agree.
Your invitation sets out the article, issue, compensation, contributor copies, payment timing and permitted promotional use. Nothing beyond those written terms is assumed.
The process
From invitation to issue.
- We explain why the article belongs in the issue and confirm that you control the text rights.
- We agree the permission, compensation and treatment of any images.
- We prepare the piece for print and ask you to approve substantive changes.
- The completed issue is printed, attributed in full and linked back to your original publication online.
